A modern counterpoint to the Sandbelt: heather, wide corridors and five holes on the water at Shinnecock Bay. Forgiving enough for the mid-handicapper, sharp enough to hold a state open.
The signature hole is the 17th — Green falls away at the back right; land it short and let it feed.
